I, along with Masters student at Newcastle University have been working on an online digital archive of one man’s music–the Joseph Hornsby Archive.
Joseph is a great local fiddler from Northumberland who has been playing fiddle for over 60 years, with a long semi-professional career in dance bands.
There’s a lot of video interview material and other images etc. available on the Omega site now–please feel free to use it under CC-BY licence for research and teaching. It’s a fascinating insight into one person’s individual musical life, and how this is embedded in a very local network of relationships.
